UROMAC has supplied a new T-RAIL MV road-rail vehicle that will operate at Line 1 of Tranvía Metropolitano de la Bahía de Cádiz between Cádiz and Chiclana de la Frontera.

This vehicle can work as a rescue unit capable of towing a complete tram in the event of a breakdown on the main line. For this, it has a railway brake system and a tow bar adapted to carry out the maneuver safely.

The vehicle has an elevating working platform, a crane and a road-rail trailer platform to transport a reel stand for catenary maintenance. The trailer also has custom bodywork designed to house the rescue and rerouting equipment.

The railway guiding system allows the vehicle to circulate both on ADIF conventional commuter tracks and on the tramway’s own track with sharp curves.

The vehicle offers great traction and towing capacity on the steepest and most demanding slopes (75 Ton @ 8%).
